I first came to Body College because I had heard so much good stuff about Pilates so I decided to try it! Boy did I love it. Being into fitness all my life, a teaching degree so that I could teach physical education in the school system and then later on with two children (staying at home) teaching aerobic classes and becoming a marathon runner. I found that the Pilates made me much more flexible and stable in turn made me a quicker runner with less injuries and a faster recovery time. Once I started the Pilates at the Body College I found I could not go without taking a few lessons a week. I would take sessions at other studios through out the country while traveling with my family but it was hard to find a studio like Body College. The Body College Instructors are very knowledge in the Pilates work; they took the time to work with the issues I had going on in my body from years of physical activity. The instructors taught me the mind body awareness, which I could practice in my daily routines. Thanks to the instructors and their knowledge at Body College I have gained ¾ of an inch back in height, have noticed how much more flexible I am and feel much stronger in my core, most of all the shape of my body has really changed. They are not kidding when they say you get a longer leaner (I do not know any women who is not looking for that!!!) you really do loose inches. In seeing and feeling the results in my running and aerobics had changed not only for myself but in how I taught aerobics I decided to take Mikes mat certification. Thank you so much for the fantastic weekend of Pilates mat level1certification. I enjoyed it so much I will be back in August for mat level 2certification. I have talked with all my peers at the health club I teach at and told them that no matter what type of exercise they specialize in “Mike Wrights Pilates” is key to their own success and the success of their clients.
Thank you again, and I look forward to more knowledge and fun in August.

Thank you again for the session yesterday. I walked out with the feeling that my hips were so loose that I was like a model sashaying down the runway with an exaggerated gait. Cool!
I also played a few holes in the evening after teaching. I consistently drove the ball much farther. On number 16 at Lakewood, for example, I hit driver, four iron to the green. That hole is a 525 yard par five. The drive traveled 322 yards. On 14, I hit driver wedge from 125(425 yard par four). On 13, I hit driver, four iron from 190(500 yard par four).
On 11, I hit driver, gap wedge from 110(390 yard par four). On the par three12th, I hit seven iron from 180 to pin high.
I played with a member of the club who knows my game and thinks (thought) of me as a short hitter. NO MORE!
So I think my technique (club face angle) is improving, but I also know that your work with me is has improved my game as well as far as strength, stability and flexibility are concerned. Thank you.

I knew I needed some kind of physical activity. Nevertheless, I am not a yoga or TM personality; sports did not interest me – I am competitive enough in my business and I get plenty of walking power shopping. My friends suggested Pilates would give me the right balance of physical exertion and mental concentration. At about the same time I was concerned about all the things most women think about when they see their mothers aging and what they can do to prevent that particular history from repeating itself.
I checked out several of the Pilates studios in the DC area, none of the others offered me the combination of expertise, personalities, facilities, PEOPLE and value that I found at Body College.
Now 3 years later, my pants are baggy (my seamstress is happy) and I have grown ½ inch in height! I have lost 30lbs….
without machining myself crazy, I also have the stamina and feel better than I have in years. Moreover, these Instructors have me doing things with my body I was not flexible or strong enough to do when I was 18 years old. “Amazing!”
Thank you to all the instructors at Body College who helped me achieve a new body and mind

On June 14th and 15th 2008, I attended the course in Washington DC taught by Mike Wright. I drove 6 hours each way in order to take the course from him. I live in New Haven, CT and there is a certifying teacher here, but I opted not to take the course there for a variety of reasons I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to take the course from Mike, I believe the Pilates community is as lucky as I was to have Mike Wright teaching.
First of all the facility at Body College Pilates is excellent and has an easygoing, warm style with everyone. His studio is very accessible and the feeling of welcome is encouraging to a student. In my experience, many Pilates studios intimidate instead of inspire. Mike is inspiring and makes you want to learn more, he piques your curiosity – what a wonderful introduction to some just beginning the learning process!
Mike absolutely covered all the course material, but he did it in a way that was very functional and organic. Learning in such an environment resulted in more practical understanding of the material. Mike also introduced more information and stimulated interest in advanced levels of Pilates certifications. Personally, Mike has made me want to learn even more about the Pilates method and teach it to anyone I can!
Mike Wright has a great personality and obviously feels passionately about what he does. I cannot imagine a better person to learn Pilates from. Thanks for all you knowledge and passion of the work!!
